Skatergirls - Get Up

Although sisters Alex and Juli are twins, they could not be more different, and their dreams of the future differ widely. While Juli passed her high school diploma with flying colors, Alex failed. What they both have in common is their love of skateboarding, so after graduating from high school, a cool summer at the skate park lies ahead of them. Together with the daring Ewa and the complete skating newbie Nia, the four girls found the skate crew GetUp and are aiming to take part in a skating competition in Cologne together. If they win the competition, a shared Interrail trip and new boards would await them all! They win the pre-selection, but amongst the skate park's twists and turns, heartache, arguments and parental prohibitions threaten to spoil their chances of success. Co-written and directed by Lea Becker in her feature debut and starring TikTok stars Lisa and Lena Mantler in the lead roles, this charming feel-good family film sees the resilience of the skate group tested as they explore the fun of skating and growing up.
